[Ripley is starting to fall into the schedule according to the game rules. Thursday night, check in on other people, make sure they're safe. Sit outside their room. Fall asleep at midnight. The day she doesn't fall asleep is something she's not looking forward to.
She wants to be able to protect people here, but how can she if she doesn't know what the monsters are doing? Their goals, their motivations? She paces around the hallway, summoning and unsummoning the chair every few feet. Eventually, she stops outside of Akira's room and pauses, summoning the chair to be sitting across the hall from his door. She hesitates to sit down, staring with an intense look towards Akira's room.
[there is a lot happening in Room 132 tonight. people shuffling in and out, preparing for the evening ahead by whispering with each other in hushed voices. and at some point? Akira steps into the hallway for a little bit of breathing room, especially considering he's about to spend the night with at least five other people (one of whom is a grown adult) in his space]
[he gently shuts the door behind him, sucking in a deep breath as he leans his back against it, eyes slipping shut. it's only when he opens them again that he realizes his across-the-hallway neighbor is seated in front of his room]
[Ripley inclines her head towards Akira. She's been watching the people coming in and out, though she questions whether or not this will actually help anyone if she ends up falling asleep tonight.
...Maybe it would've been a good idea to, you know, come armed, but she didn't want to risk bringing a faulty flamethrower or something.]
Hope you don't mind I've set up shop outside your room.
[The corners of her mouth twitch up into a half-smile.]
You painted a pretty big target on your back last week, didn't you?
[That question is more hypothetical than anything. She leans back in her chair, shifting into a slightly more comfortable position.]
...Huh. [Ripley raises an eyebrow.] I thought all of us came here alone, but...I guess I was mistaken.
[How many other people here have people from home with them...?]
Hell, it sounds like you've got a whole sleepover party going on in there. [She smiles a little bit.] Like you kids don't have enough sleepover parties.
[Iwai is their chaperone. he'll make sure they don't get too crazy]
You've noticed, huh? [he laughs] It might seem kind of out of place to have that many sleepovers in a murder resort, but. . . it keeps everyone's spirits up.
[Ripley nods. She gets that. Especially when murder around the resort seems to have been keeping to schedule, that leaves the rest of the week for the kids to forget about...well.]
I just hope it isn't distracting everyone from our goals to win or...escape. [...] Though, I guess things have become easier, now that we know for sure what we're dealing with.
Believe me, kid, I know. [A beat, and then, added quickly--] After all, we know that someone is sending us messages anonymously. Who's to say that there aren't any other roles in play right now?
[But if they spend too much time trying to uncover who's who, they might accidentally play right into the mafia's hands...]
Just make sure you don't do anything reckless. You can't save anyone if you're dead, after all.
Could've fooled me! The way you charge into things without a shred of thought for your own safety--it's sort of dumb. Brave, but dumb.

Listen. There's only so many people I can protect. [She makes direct eye contact with Akira as she says it.] Don't make this any harder on the people that care about you.
